NXTsports is cognizant of the ongoing outbreak of COVID-19. According to the CDC, there are certain populations at an increased risk of severe illness from COVID-19. Those include older adults and those with serious chronic medical conditions including heart disease, lung disease, and diabetes. Luckily, the risk of severe illness for children with COVID-19 is relatively low. To date, infected children have typically presented with mild cold-like symptoms.

In this two-part episode, Marty and Bill wrap up their first season of the podcast. To lead things off, a phone conversation recorded on April 2, where the guys catch up about their new normal while COVID-19 derails our beloved spring lacrosse season and much more. John Peruso, President of Next Level Video joins the podcast as our expert guest. John shares the ways that players, coaches and parents can use video content. A former high school coach as well as an entrepreneur, John and the guys chat about how film is used by coaches and their teams. Other topics discussed include making highlighting films, how college coaches use film in the recruiting process and other resources for lacrosse players to take advantage of video content.

Updated weekly, NXT will be highlighting players who had standout weeks in their collegiate games.

Nine former NXT Showcase participants have made the latest US men’s U19 training roster. The roster was recently cut down to 24 after 104 players participated in the initial tryout.
